Course Summary
Fire safety is everyone’s concern, and complying with the law can mean the difference between life and death. Addressing this vital training requirement, the Fire Safety Awareness learning plan ensures compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and maps fully to the Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness.

Fire safety involves having an understanding of the precautionary measures that can be taken to reduce or prevent the possibility of a fire. If a fire does occur, it can cause a lot of damage, including loss of information, property damage, injuries and even fatalities. Employers are therefore required to implement fire safety measures and ensure employees are well informed about fire hazards and how to prevent them. Covered in the course are the conditions that may give rise to a fire, and the ways in which the risk of a fire can and should be prevented or minimised.
Course Description
Audience
All employers and employees, including those responsible for or working in offices and shops, factories and warehouses, buildings with sleeping accommodation, residential care premises, theatres, cinemas, healthcare premises, animal premises and stables, transport premises and facilities and for those who are interested in learning more about fire prevention, as well as individuals who work in hazardous conditions or industries that are especially at risk from fire hazards as well as All individuals, including supervisors, employees, building owners and occupants who are interested in learning more about fire safety awareness; individuals who need to show compliance with the Fire Safety Order or who work in hazardous conditions or industries that are especially at risk from fire or who may be exposed to the risk of a fire

Introducing Fire Safety (Fire Safety Awareness - Course 1)
Fire safety involves having an understanding of the precautionary measures that can be taken to reduce or prevent the possibility of a fire. If a fire does occur, it can cause a lot of damage, including loss of information, property damage, injuries and even fatalities. Employers are therefore required to implement fire safety measures and ensure employees are well informed about fire hazards and how to prevent them.

This course aims to raise awareness about fire safety, including the conditions that may give rise to a fire, and the ways in which the risk of a fire can and should be prevented or minimised.

This course was developed with subject matter support provided by Chilworth (a DEKRA Company) – Global Experts in Safety and Process Safety.

Goals To raise awareness about fire safety, the importance of identifying fire risks and the ways in which fire safety legislation is enforced and should be adhered to.


Practical Fire Safety (Fire Safety Awareness - Course 2)
Fire safety consists of precautions that should be taken to reduce or prevent the possibility of a fire. Employers are therefore required to implement fire safety measures and ensure employees and supervisors take the necessary precautions and receive the necessary training to be well informed about fire safety practices.

This course aims to raise awareness about fire safety practices and precautionary measures that should be taken to reduce the number of injuries or fatalities in the event of a fire.

Goals To be familiar with the components of a fire detection and warning system, fire safety procedures and checks that must be carried out prior to or during a fire or fire drill.
